"Do the following test!
Does the car always start cold good?? If yes, go to the next step
If the hard starting exists after the engine is warm – most likely it’s loosing the fuel pressure internally.
The CIS or KE Jetronic needs a rest pressure for 2.8 bar – this is also the opening pressure of the fuel injectors.
Now be carefull diagnosing it! If the car starts up within 5 – 7 sec. of cranking and it idles very uneven or rough like 4 than 5, 6 7, 8 cylinder it could be the fuel injectors are leaking down.
But if it takes usually 10 plus seconds to fire up most likely the fuel accumulator (located on the r rear beside the fuel pump) is leaking.
Do the following test!
Clamp up the small return hose from the back – so no fuel leaks out of the tank when you disconnect at the fuel accumulator.
Now start up the car and let it idle for 10 to 20 seconds – if fuel sprays out like a fountain the diaphragm in the accumulator is ripped. This is the most common problem! Some small drips are normal, even if the accumulator is ok.
If its only dripping let it run longer and see if it stops usually within one minute. You also can attach a hose to the accumulator and let the fuel run into a bucket – this is safer and don’t smoke.
For the other test you need a fuel pressure gauge and for internal leaks at the fuel distributer. Also the check valves at the pumps could be bad. But there are 2 and usually both don’t fail.
If the fuel accumulator is not leaking you need a fuel pressure gauge up to 10 bar connected at the cold start injector (only injector with 2 electric wires) located at cyl. # 5 left front. Start the engine – working pressure about 5.5 bar. Shut engine off and check if pressure holds at 2.8 bar for at least 15 minutes. If not you have a leak. – but do the easy test first."
Jeżeli to nie to daj znać - poszukam w historii wyszukiwarki bo spędziłem kilka ładnych godzin czytajac o tym.
